“You didn’t expect to be here?
Me neither!”

These are the words we don’t think to hear,
but death comes when you least expect it- IT’S HERE!

“The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment,
he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side”

When everything was peaceful
God required of him his soul.
What shall a man give in exchange for this?
The world? His riches?

Down into the depths of darkness,
not of caverns or compartments,
but into fiery torment to await
the consummate burning Lake.

You cry, “Isn’t there water you can send me!”
Even if there is a reply it would be, “There isn’t any.”

Weeping, gnashing, sorrow, anger,
slipping, gasping, claustrophobia.

As you wait you have time to think,
“Was it worth it? What did I think?
I wish I didn’t shut down his faith!”
or “Why didn’t he tell me about his faith?”

After endless seconds of wailing
the time comes for which you’ve been anxiously waiting,
the trumpet throughout loudly thunders
and you stand in your body with others
before the Son of God and open books!

Unless God grants you His mercy
this is death of which you are worthy…
