Broken men sing careful hymns to please the God they love
Stammering tongues sing stuttered songs carried via Dove
O’ you of faith, o’ child of God, lift up your voice in song
Like incense smoke aloft the wind are prayers carried along

The King does hear your sincere voice calling throughout the day
He’s pleased you speak the fragile words of peace or in dismay
Trust Him who knows all things and believe in what He spake:
“My Father knows a sparrow’s death, you’re worth much more than they!”

Take pleasure in the throne of grace which you can happen by
For those in Christ, His chosen kin, who seek the Lord Most High
Savour now, and tomorrow then, the sweet communion there:
The audience you share with God within an honest prayer
