Fed by the birds
At Cherith
Serving the Lord
You cherish
Are you all alone,
Elijah?
Or are you home?
Elijah?

There’s oil and the flour
In Sidon
Widow’s darkest hour
Dead son
Will He undue death,
Elijah?
Can He give him breath,
Elijah?

King and deceit
At Carmel
Prophets and priests
Of idols
Will He come in fire,
Elijah?
Will you kill the liars,
Elijah?

“Yahweh, He is God”
They said
Ahab can’t applaud
He’s fed
What can prayer form,
Elijah?
Do you see a storm,
Elijah?

Gird up your loins
Run now
Victory is poised
Endowed
A witch seeks you,
Elijah
Do you trust the Truth,
Elijah?

Fear can be strong
But hollow
Broom-tree throngs
Choke wallow
Is it enough for you,
Elijah?
Were your fathers true,
Elijah?

Arise and eat the bread
Drink the water at your head
This journey will be great
Arise and find your fate,
Elijah

After Horeb, Elisha, Ahab,
Ahaziah, and sons of prophets sad,
The whirlwind and the chariot,
Elisha has a double portion of your spirit,
Elijah

And so you now stand before the King
Fear and tremble, worshipping
But you were made for times like this
Return to Israel in its sinful midst,
Elijah

Turn the fathers to the sons
And sons to fathers, one
The terrible day draws near
There is no time for fear,
Elijah

A curse is on His lips
If the people will never quit
Fulfill your ministry
Point all to the blessed tree,
Elijah

Come, announce another drought
Put wicked sorcerers out
Proclaim the deadly plagues
Your message won’t be vague,
Elijah
