If we thought life’s about us then we missed the point,
we’ve been bought by Him whom the Lord did anoint.
Before creation the Father set us apart and did appoint
His Son to be our Bridegroom, in our room and place,
bear our sin in Himself that turned away His face,
all to the praise of the glory of His grace.
Sealed for redemption through His Holy Spirit,
clothed with Christ’s robe and we can’t tear it,
interpenetration like a singularity.
This is Paul’s vision: where is He, where are we?.
One new man at peace, no longer “us” and “them,”
through the cross of the Man of heaven,
who ate from the tree of life in His resurrection.
From His side God built a Woman to be His wife,
the church is partaker of His own breath and life,
bone of bones, flesh of flesh, yielding up her rights,
inheriting the promises that are His indeed
since He went into Her and gave Her His seed,
He’s the Singular and we’re the plural, read…
This is Paul’s vision: we are all the promised breed.
Just as Jesus was conceived by the Spirit so are we in Christ,
just as Jesus died to sin once for all so have we in Christ,
just as Jesus rose again to new life so have we in Christ,
just as Jesus was raised and seated so have we in Christ,
just as Jesus was circumcised truly so are we in Christ,
just as Jesus was justified by the Spirit so are we in Christ,
just as Jesus is the new creation so are we in Christ,
just as Jesus will appear in glory so will we in Christ,
just as Jesus will descend and judge so will we in Christ.
This is Paul’s vision: He is all in all and we’re in Christ.
Thank you Father for all that you’ve planned in Your Son,
praise You for adopting me in Him because we’re One.
