“You heretic, renegade, traitor, and thief!”

Those angry words from Lander to Wishart
With a deep hatred for the man of God
Says-he those words minutes after reading a certain chart
A list accusing Wishart of fraudulent teachings; the good Sir eventually accused of heresy
For saying that with the devil, The Roman Catholic Church was flirting
And for that, he was rewarded by hanging and burning
He died for his defense of the Gospel against the papacy
Wishart’s name is not to us well noted
But his sacrifice to The Church was noted
See his story recorded in that book by Foxe
And many more have fallen under persecution
For in them was burning this great conviction
To proclaim the unadulterated gospel all the way to their execution

Now you may think that my writing is in regard to these martyrs
Alas it is not about those men’s labors
But about the lamb that was slain
This Jesus Christ we proclaim
God to Eve’s promised seed
This was spelled in the first creed
God to Abraham’s promised son
To multiply his generation under the sun
God to David’s promised heir
Forever he shall sit upon thy royal chair
He is the perfect Israelite
In his perfect walk in God’s sight
He is the perfect magistrate
In His righteousness shall judge all fate

This Christ whom we proclaim
Will come riding on a horse
To set this creation in perfect flame
In his wrath, all sinner will know His force
So many men have fallen under persecution
For in them was burning this great conviction
To proclaim the unadulterated gospel all the way to their execution
For the wrath to come is not illusion

Repent!
