I would like to engrave something beautiful
No mere art but something useful
It may be a song or maybe a poem
As long as it deals with the great problem
May it be a book or perhaps a letter?
As long as it’s in reverence to The great Creator
I want to write until there are no more scrolls
No more feathers no more inks
To sit in the summer and disregard the cold
And keep writing until the smell of spring
The sound of my quill scratching the parchment
Shall resound to the furthest earth department
A chant of hope and not an enchantment
I want to write something beautiful
No mere art but something useful
It may be a poem or maybe a song
As long as it deals with the great exchange
A survey of that glorious day I lost my wrong
To read about my heart being rearranged
