Whither springs the dawn?
From the depths of the night
Under the cover of darkness
Bursting from that place where only dawn lies
Whither comes the day?
From the heart of the sun
Oh sun! in it’s rays
Stirring life from it’s dismal sleep
Whither creeps the dusk?
From the mists, from the dew
From it’s bed in the shadows
Spreading, stirring, dark yet light
Whither flies the night?
From it’s dwelling with the moon
On the wings of twilight
Dancing to earth with velvet steps
Whither rests the earth?
In the palm of God’s hand
For the praise of his glory
The jewel of creation
The abode of mankind
